What will I be doing?
As an RTU Gateway Engineer, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the OMS project. Your main focus will be designing and implementing feedback loops to test SCADA functionality. This involves programming virtual RTUs to simulate real-world conditions, ensuring the SCADA system responds accurately and reliably. Your responsibilities include configuring and maintaining virtual RTUs, developing automated test procedures, and troubleshooting issues found during testing. Key tasks involve designing feedback loops, running functional SCADA tests, analyzing system responses, and adjusting configurations to improve performance. Your work ensures that the SCADA system correctly processes field data and executes control commands as expected.
And my skills?
Your expertise includes PLC programming based on international automation standards and configuring Siemens S8000 virtual RTUs in the Siemens SICAM 8 environment. You understand standardized telemetry protocols for remote communication, ensuring smooth data exchange between systems. Creating external interfacing test specifications, developing test procedures, and troubleshooting system issues are part of your skill set. With specialized knowledge gained through training and close collaboration with Aspentech engineers, you’re well-equipped to handle complex tasks in system integration and testing.
